Adelphi Hotel in Portrush to Close for Major 2025 Relaunch

local news May 30, 2024

The Adelphi Hotel, a long-standing establishment on Portrush’s Main Street, will close its doors this Friday afternoon to undergo major renovations. The hotel is set to reopen with a grand relaunch in 2025, timed to coincide with The Open Golf Championship's return to Royal Portrush.

Now, under the ownership of Marine and Lawn Hotels & Resorts, the Adelphi will be reintroduced as part of their esteemed collection, explicitly catering to golf aficionados. The hotel will undergo a thorough makeover, with extensive refurbishments planned for the guest rooms and common areas.

Originally opened in June 2006 by Mark and Amanda Holmes, the Adelphi boasts 28 en-suite rooms along with luxurious spa and sauna facilities, solidifying its status as a premier four-star establishment in the heart of Portrush.

A spokesperson for Marine and Lawn, Hotels and Resorts, said: "With a deep understanding and respect for the history of the hotel and its connection to the Northern Irish community, the renovation will pay homage to the destination’s natural beauty and rich traditions.

"We are honoured to now have Adelphi Portrush as part of our distinct set of properties."
