The Sunday Times has recognised Ballycastle as one of the best places to live by the sea in the UK for 2024.

This charming town, known for its expansive beaches and iconic Game of Thrones scenery, offers views across the wild Atlantic to Rathlin Island and the Mull of Kintyre, making it a feast for the eyes.

Ballycastle is not just visually stunning but also a paradise for food enthusiasts.

The Sunday Times said how the town boasts the brilliant Ursa Minor bakery and the North Coast Smokehouse, where visitors can sample local produce at the market before indulging in Morton’s famous fish and chips.

The town peaks during the Ould Lammas Fair in late August, a vibrant event that draws thousands to its streets. Attendees can enjoy the spectacle of horse trading while sampling local delicacies such as yellowman (honeycomb) and dulse (seaweed).

Quay Road is a prime address for those looking to settle in Ballycastle. A new four-bedroom Georgian-style townhouse is currently on the market for £475,000, reflecting the average property price of £249,667.

Ballycastle is set to host the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series at Ballycastle Harbour on Friday, July 19th, and Saturday, July 20th. This event is expected to draw tens of thousands of spectators to the Causeway Coast, further highlighting Ballycastle's appeal as one of the best places to live by the sea in the UK for 2024.

With its stunning scenery, delectable food offerings, and lively community events, Ballycastle is truly one of the UK's coastal gems.
