Ballymoney Campus Set for Regeneration as College Moves Forward with Disposal Plans
Oct 15, 2024The former Ballymoney Campus, vacated by the College in June 2024, is now poised for future regeneration as part of a wider strategic plan.
The closure of the site was part of the business case for the new Causeway Campus in Coleraine, which now consolidates the educational provision from both Ballymoney and Coleraine.
As the campus is now surplus to requirements, the College is actively working on its disposal in line with guidance from Land & Property Services (LPS). This process will determine whether the site is offered to other public sector bodies or placed on the external market. The interest shown by either sector will ultimately influence the timeline for the sale and future use of the site.
Councillor Darryl Wilson welcomed the progress, stating, “It is great to hear that work on the disposal of the Ballymoney Campus is moving swiftly. This is an important step in ensuring the site can be regenerated for the benefit of the local community and future developments.”
The College’s new Causeway Campus, developed for the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough, aims to provide world-class facilities, ensuring that students in the area benefit from the very best in education and training.
