Chef producer Gary Stewart Showcases his Growing Range of Products at the Auld Lammas Fair
Sep 07, 2023The Auld Lammas Fair is one of Ireland's oldest and most prestigious fairs. Award-winning Chef producer Gary Stewart appeared at the Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market during the Auld Lammas Fair, showcasing his growing range of sauces.
Gary launched his Distiller's Pickle sauce during lockdown, perfecting the flavour. Made with Armagh apples, spices and a generous measure of Black Bush Irish Whiskey, this condiment is perfect for cheeses, charcuterie, burgers and sandwiches. It won gold in the Irish Food Awards / Blas na hEireann 2021 and 1 gold star winner at the Guild of Fine Food' Great Taste Awards' 2022, an incredible achievement considering the challenges facing the hospitality industry during that period.
His restaurant, Tartine at Distiller's Arms, serves Distillers Pickle Sauce alongside their popular Irish Cheeseboard and baked Camembert sharing starter'.
He has now added a delicious Distillers Raspberry and Apple Sauce, perfect for scones, granola, Eton mess, desserts such as the stunning lemon posset often featured on Tartine at Distillers Arm's menu or a moreish twist when added to a refreshing summer cocktail.
Not content with two outstanding products, he took the opportunity to re-launch the newest addition to the Distiller's sauce range by showcasing his Cranberry and apple sauce. With its Cranberries, Bushmills
whiskey, Armagh apples, dates and ginger, it has delicious nostalgic festive notes, but let's face it, a Creamy ripe brie and Cranberry and apple melt works any time of the year! With red wine and onion undertones, this fragrant condiment went down a treat with market visitors.
Gary Stewart also brought another crowd-pleaser to his market stall: Homemade wheaten and Guinness bread. His multi-award winning Seafood Chowder is always served with his moist and flavoursome bread, and he is continually asked if it is for sale. Loaves were flying out from his stall, and he assured visitors that they could get their next fix at the upcoming Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey festival, where his chowder and Guinness wheaten bread will be available in Tartine at Distillers Arms all weekend. Gary will also operate a Seafood chowder stall on Sunday 8th, October 2023, and demonstrate the secrets at the local Chef demonstration kitchen.
As Chef Gary continues to expand his brand, we can only expect more delicious products to follow, and you will see him out and about at events such as the recent East Block Food Bazaar in Belfast. Gary had a very successful day and loved the relaxed, cool vibe of the event. 'It was great to chat to so many people passionate about good food, and I met many regular customers of Tartine at Distillers Arms from the greater Belfast area and beyond'.
