Bushmills Park and Ride facility

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council has approved the renewal of a plan to build a park-and-ride facility in Bushmills on lands on the northern side of Dunluce Road, opposite the all-weather pitch at Dunluce School, and about 130 meters west of No. 4 Tramway Drive.

This facility aims to reduce traffic and parking issues for visitors to the famous Giant’s Causeway. The plan was first approved in 2019 and was submitted by PORTNABOE LIMITED, led by Seymour Sweeney.

A parking statement at the time stated that visitors would park at the facility and take a shuttle bus to the Giant’s Causeway. The shuttle service will run frequently to match visitor demand.

The privately funded facility will charge for parking and transportation, operating as a business. Besides reducing parking problems at the Giant’s Causeway, visitors can also reach other attractions around the north coast.
