McAuley Engineering, a cornerstone of Ballymoney’s manufacturing landscape, has submitted plans to Causeway Coast & Glens Council for a new facility on lands directly adjacent to 10 and 10a Riada Avenue.

The move forms a key element of the firm’s strategic five‐year growth plan, which aims to expand production capacity to meet growing demand.

The proposal seeks full planning permission for a state-of-the-art industrial unit, designed to support the company’s high-quality metal parts production for both local and national markets. The planned facility will feature dedicated spaces for storage, distribution, ancillary offices, and staff facilities, ensuring that operational needs are met as the business expands.

Access improvements are also a priority. The development will utilise the existing access at the site’s north-eastern corner, which is scheduled to be widened to accommodate HGV movements. Adequate parking and service yard facilities have been planned to ensure seamless operations in line with DFI Roads requirements.

In addition to these features, Carey Consulting is underway with a drainage assessment, following a preliminary enquiry with NI Water to ascertain the viability of storm and foul connections. A thoughtfully designed landscaping scheme is also part of the proposal, with plans to plant native species to enhance biodiversity and maintain green screening. Existing trees, hedges, and boundary plantings will be retained, with only minimal alterations required for the site access.
