Council Urged To Create Lifesaving AED Funding Pot

Councillor Kennedy, supported by Councillor Stirling, has proposed a Notice of Motion urging Causeway Coast and Glens Council to create a funding pot for community groups responsible for maintaining Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

The motion addresses these groups' growing difficulties in replacing essential components such as defibrillator pads. Without adequate funding, there is a significant risk that defibrillators could be left out of service after use, potentially jeopardising lives during emergencies.

The Notice of Motion will be brought forward at a future council meeting for discussion and decision, with expectations of broad support for this life-saving measure.
