Councillor Proposes Lighting Improvements for Christie Park Walkway

A new proposal aims to enhance safety and accessibility along a popular riverside path in the area.

Sinn Féin Councillor Niamh Archibald has proposed a motion requesting the council conduct a feasibility study on lighting options for the Bannside walkway.

The motion reads; To ask the council to create a feasibility study and option proposals such as solar lighting in trees to light the Bannside, from Christie Park along the River to Castleroe, as this area is used by residents of all ages to exercise in a free and safe environment, indeed the pathway from Christie Park along the river was promoted as the Heart Walk and part of the Highway to Health.
