Councillors Unanimous In Decision To Defer Holiday Park Application
Aug 28, 2024
Councillors have deferred a planning application for a proposed holiday park off Wheatsheaf Road in Coleraine pending a site visit.
The proposed development, which includes holiday cabins, facilities for touring caravans, tent pitches, and the conversion of a stone barn into a communal welcome centre and restaurant, has sparked significant public interest.
Councillor Philip Anderson suggested the site visit, which Councillor Russell Watton seconded.
The deferral passed unanimously among council members.
The decision comes as the proposal faces strong opposition from the local community, with 96 objections against the application.
