In a world where scents have the power to transport us to cherished memories, Olivia Burns, the creative mind behind Olivia's Haven, has captured the essence of storytelling in her luxurious home fragrance collection. Born and raised in Coleraine, Olivia's childhood memories serve as the foundation for her scents, stories, and brand aesthetic.

What started as a bespoke collection of six signature soy candles has blossomed into a comprehensive range that includes reed diffusers, wax melts, air fresheners and more. Now Olivia's Haven has gained a global following, gracing homes worldwide.

Olivia's journey into the world of luxury home fragrance began with her fascination with the connection between scent and memories.

She explained, “The whole ethos behind the brand is that every scent begins with a story, and the fragrance is then matched to it, all of them have a real personal meaning and story behind them. I started with Wild Heather, which celebrates my mom, Heather.”

Amongst the beautifully unique scents is ‘The Wedding,’ which combines Peonies, Carnations, and Jasmine.

“I created that for my own wedding day,” continued Olivia. “That's what makes it special because there's a personalised story - a reason for the product.” 

Olivia's vision extended beyond creating an exceptional range of products. She was determined to make the packaging as captivating as the scents themselves. Collaborating with an illustrator, Olivia brought her stories to life making Olivia's Haven products truly special and unique as gifts.

These ‘scentsational’ candles are hand-poured by a dedicated team of girls in Ballymoney and it was important to Olivia that everything the business does is as locally based as possible.

“We employ locally, we source our packaging locally, nothing we source comes from China,” stated Olivia. “When you buy from us you are truly supporting the local community and economy.”

Explaining the importance of using soy wax rather than paraffin wax in her candles, Olivia said, “Mass produced brands use paraffin wax and the problem with that is that their candles have chemicals in them. People have recalled experiences with marks and sooting on the ceiling of their house when they burn them.

“Our candles are soy wax so they are really clean burning and they last a really long time as well. You'll get a long slow burn with our candles. Some have a 45 plus hour burn time but some people can get up to 60 hours.

“We also use really high quality fragrance oils so you also get strong and vibrant fragrances which fill the room and last. You really get what you pay for with them because they are really good quality products.’

One of the highlights of Olivia's Haven is their ever-evolving collection. In addition to the core range, Olivia regularly refreshes the collection, ensuring there's always something new to discover and when the festive season arrives, Olivia's Haven will unveil a special Christmas collection featuring four distinct scents, adding a touch of magic to your holiday celebrations.

Having primarily reached customers across the globe through their Instagram page and website, this year, Olivia’s Haven luxury products have also found a prestigious place on the shelves of two of Ireland's most renowned department stores, Arnotts and Brown Thomas.
Having made waves with a pop-up experience during Mother's Day when countless visitors fell in love with the exquisite products, the Olivia’s Haven success story continued when the Coleraine business woman opened the doors of her permanent store in Coleraine’s Stone Row at the end of March.

Olivia reflected on the success, saying, “We had so many people calling in and loving the products. It was truly amazing."

The allure of Olivia's Haven continued to captivate during the Easter season, drawing in a diverse range of visitors, from caravaners seeking to infuse their mobile homes with delightful scents to curious locals and tourists alike.

“We have had a brilliant response from far and wide since we opened with so many people calling in and loving the products. We look forward to welcoming many more through our doors in the coming months.
