“I wanted to do something to help and offer people who have been through it an ‘escape’,” said Joanne. “You never ever escape it but you can get away for a little while from the emotional and physical effects. It’s the label - you want to be just Sam or Anne for a while and not be Sam or Anne the cancer patient.”

Davy added: “Having been through this experience ourselves, we can empathise with clients. We are both trained to support people and we understand what they are going through.”
