Ex-motorcycle Gang Member Reaches Open With Win

Ryan Peake has qualified for The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush after securing his maiden professional victory at the New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport.
The 31-year-old will make his major championship debut after holding his nerve to roll in a birdie putt at the last to win by one stroke on a 23-under-par total of 261 and avoid a four-man playoff with runners-up Kazuki Higa, Ian Snyman and Jack Thompson.
Three more places in The 153rd Open will be awarded to the leading players not already exempt in the Investec South African Open Championship, which is scheduled to conclude today.
