Final Weekend of Margey & Bjourson Art at Arcadia Portrush
Jul 19, 2024North Coast husband and wife artists Adrian Margey and Evana Bjourson are coming to the end of their three week residency at the iconic Arcadia Portrush.
The pair have been using the upstairs gallery as their studio during this period and have been showing their latest work in a stunning exhibition and sale of work.
This weekend will be the public’s last opportunity to view the exhibition with doors open Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July: 11am – 5pm.
This large-scale exhibition has showcased the contrasting work of both artists. Bjourson’s work explores human interaction, seascapes and coastal experiences. Her figurative work reflects thoughts on the reason for and role of humanity while her dynamic wave paintings take inspiration from life on the North Coast. Margey has been showing his dynamic portrayals of Ulster landscape and landmarks including depictions of the North Coast, Belfast, Donegal and the Mournes. He has also been showing his more impressionistic work that adopts a naturalistic colour palette and employs hand and finger painting techniques.
“Myself and Evana have had a wonderful few weeks at Arcadia. It has been a pleasure to work from the space and meet so many visitors interested in our work. We look forward to chatting to guests over the weekend as the show draws to a close,” remarked Margey.
Admission to the exhibition is free and carparking is available at East Strand carpark just a few minutes walk from the Arcadia.
