Five new holiday bubble domes approved in Portstewart

Portstewart will see the construction of five new bubble domes, despite objections regarding their potential effects on the nearby historical structure, Cromore House.

Situated off Cromore Road in Portstewart, the development will consist of domes intended for vacationing purposes, complemented by a reception facility, parking for guests and staff, and a landscaped environment.

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council's Planning Committee endorsed the project on Wednesday, August 23.

The decision was made in the face of resistance from the Cromore House property owner.

They expressed concerns about how the new development might compromise the house's residential appeal through factors like diminished privacy, noise, smell, lighting disturbances, and an overall alteration of its character.
