Galgorm Collection Set to Acquire Roe Park Resort in Limavady, Pending Final Approvals
Oct 25, 2024The renowned Roe Park Resort in Limavady is set to change hands, with the Galgorm Collection poised to acquire the popular Limavady-based golf and spa destination.
Rumours of the acquisition have circulated locally for weeks, sparking significant interest in the hotel’s future. News of the impending deal was confirmed this morning by The Irish News.
The four-star, 118-bedroom property went on the market in June, attracting interest from three hospitality groups, with an initial asking price in excess of £14 million. While the final sale price has not been disclosed, sources indicate that the Galgorm Collection has emerged as the successful bidder, though the transaction remains subject to final legal and financial checks.
Once the deal completes, Roe Park Resort will become the fourth hotel in the Galgorm Collection’s expanding portfolio, joining Galgorm Resort near Ballymena, The Rabbit Hotel in Templepatrick, and The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn. In addition to its hotel properties, the group also operates several restaurants in Belfast, including Parisien and Fratelli.
The Roe Park site, which has been independently owned since its establishment in 1995, includes an 18-hole parkland golf course, a golf academy, a driving range, a spa, two restaurants, multiple bars, and a health club.
The resort also offers three self-catering lodges, with planning applications submitted for a further 11 units. Ownership of Roe Park has been shared by Charles Conn, Kevin McKeever, and Alan Wilton, who have collectively invested around £3 million in upgrades over the past three years, enhancing facilities across weddings and events, guest rooms, and the golf course, while adding the Gate Lodge as a third self-catering option.
