GOLF+ Launches Royal Portrush Dunluce Links, Host of the 2025 Open Championship

– GOLF+, the leading virtual reality golf experience, last month announced the release of Royal Portrush Dunluce Links, one of the most iconic and revered courses in the world. Royal Portrush is the latest real-world venue to join the growing GOLF+ course lineup, allowing players to tee it up on the same storied links that will host the 2025 Open Championship.

Perched along the dramatic Antrim coast of Northern Ireland, Royal Portrush has long been celebrated for its breathtaking views, natural dune formations, and challenging design. Originally reimagined by renowned course architect Harry Colt in 1929, the course underwent extensive renovations led by Martin Ebert ahead of its return to The Open in 2019. These updates included the addition of two new holes and enhancements to the routing that have been faithfully recreated in GOLF+.

Royal Portrush is the only course outside of Scotland and England to host The Open Championship, first doing so in 1951 when Max Faulkner claimed the Claret Jug. After nearly 70 years, it returned to The Open rota in 2019, where Ireland’s Shane Lowry captured an emotional victory in front of home fans. In July, the world’s best will once again battle the elements as they compete for the title of Champion Golfer of the Year.
