Husband & Wife Artists To Launch Summer Exhibition & Sale of Work at Arcadia Portrush This Weekend

local news Jun 26, 2024
Adrian Margey and Evana Bjourson

North Coast husband and wife artists Adrian Margey and Evana Bjourson will be taking up a Summer Residency at the iconic Arcadia in Portrush from 29th June until 21st July 2024.

They will be live-painting and staging a joint exhibition & sale of their work in the upstairs gallery for the three weeks. The exhibition will be open each Saturday & Sunday: 11am - 5pm and weekdays: 12 noon - 5pm from 29th June until 21st July. Admission free - everyone welcome.

This large-scale exhibition will showcase the contrasting work of both artists. Bjourson’s work explores human interaction, seascapes and coastal experiences. Her figurative work reflects thoughts on the reason for and role of humanity while her dynamic wave paintings take inspiration from life on the North Coast. Margey will be showing his dynamic portrayals of Ulster landscape and landmarks including depictions of the North Coast, Belfast, Donegal and the Mournes. He will also be showing his more impressionistic work that adopts a naturalistic colour palette and employs hand and finger painting techniques.

“The Arcadia is surrounded almost entirely by the Atlantic Ocean. The special light inside and the amazing views of East Strand from the exhibition space will really kick start our summer! We are both looking forward to meeting visitors and discussing our latest work with them,” enthused Margey.

A wide range of both artists’ original paintings and limited edition prints will be available for purchase. Margey and Bjourson will also be on hand to discuss potential commissions with visitors. Visit www.adrianmargey.com | www.evanabjoursonart.com or telephone their Portrush Studio on 07841593762 for more information.

*Parking will be available at East Strand carpark just a couple of minutes walk away from The Arcadia.
