The owners of a well-known hotel situated on the North Coast have decided to sell their property after four decades of ownership.

For the past 40 years, the Johnston family has been the proud proprietors of the three-star Port Hotel, which is located in Portrush. However, they have now chosen to list it for sale, with the exact selling price remaining undisclosed.

Back in 1982, when the Johnstons acquired the establishment, it was known by the name of the Lismara Hotel. Since then, they have managed and operated it as the Port Hotel.

In recent months, there has been a noticeable uptick in activity within the North Coast's accommodation market. This surge is in preparation for the anticipated influx of visitors when the prestigious golf tournament, The Open, returns to the Royal Portrush in 2025.

Mark Carron, the director representing the selling agents, Osborne King, commented, "As anticipated, we have received a significant volume of inquiries for this thriving and well-established business. There is presently a substantial level of interest in hotels along the northern coast due to the array of amenities available, not to mention the upcoming golf event, The Open, scheduled for 2025."
