The Queens Arms bar in Coleraine has hailed the Coleraine Business Improvement District (BID) for organising an outstanding homecoming in honour of local Olympian Hannah Scott.

The event, which took place on Wednesday, drew thousands to the streets to celebrate Scott’s gold medal victory at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The homecoming, a collaborative effort between Coleraine BID, Bann Rowing Club, and supported by Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, was a vibrant celebration that brought the community together in a display of pride and unity.

Scott, who triumphed in the women’s quadruple sculls alongside her Team GB crewmates, was the star of the day, receiving a hero’s welcome as she returned to her hometown.

Speaking after the event, Terence O'Neill from the Queens Arms expressed his admiration for Coleraine BID’s efforts in orchestrating such a memorable occasion. “Coleraine BID deserves tremendous credit for putting together an exceptional homecoming for Hannah. The entire town was buzzing with excitement, and it was heartwarming to see so many people come out to celebrate her incredible achievement.  In addition, the media coverage by Coleraine BID was exceptional, with continuous updates throughout the day.”
