The National Trust has submitted a planning application to Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council to add a new welcome hut and ticket booth at the North Antrim Cliff Path entrance, leading to the iconic Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge.

The proposal aims to replace the current booth, which no longer fits the purpose.

The new structure is designed to improve visitor flow by consolidating ingress and egress to one sheltered area beside the ticket booth. This upgrade will enhance the visitor experience and site security by offering more explicit access control.

The planning committee is set to review the application in the coming months.
