To enhance the visitor experience at one of Northern Ireland's most iconic landmarks, Causeway Coast & Glens Council has received proposals from the National Trust to erect two new oak signposts at the Giant’s Causeway.

The proposed signposts, constructed from untreated oak, will mirror the design of the ten existing signposts installed in 2012. This continuity in design ensures a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing wayfinding system for visitors navigating the area.

Approximately 10 meters from 44 Causeway Road, Sign A will feature four finger pointers. Each pointer will have engraved lettering and symbols to indicate directions to key points such as car parks, the visitor centre, and the Giant’s Causeway itself.

Sign B, located 25 meters from 60 Causeway Road, will have two finger pointers with similar engravings.

The new signs aim to address the ongoing challenges faced by visitors in orienting themselves between different facilities and attractions. Standing at a height of 2.4 metres, they will be easily visible without disrupting the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

The council's planning committee will consider the application in the coming months.
