Planning Application Submitted for 31 Social Housing Units in Portrush
Aug 16, 2024Loguestown Farm Partnership has submitted a development proposal to Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, seeking permission to construct 31 social housing units on land opposite 17-45 Magheraboy Brea, Coleraine Road, Portrush.
The planning application outlines an ambitious project to address local housing needs while integrating with the surrounding environment.
The proposed development includes diverse housing types to cater to varying family sizes and needs. The plan features 2 two-storey, semi-detached dwellings with two bedrooms alongside 4 three-bedroom, two-storey semi-detached homes. Additionally, there are 3 four-bedroom and 2 three-bedroom detached houses, all two storeys high.
The proposal also includes 12 one-bedroom apartments and 3 two-bedroom apartments to provide for smaller households. Furthermore, 5 two-bedroom apartments are included, all within 8 two-storey blocks.
In terms of infrastructure, the application details a new access road from Coleraine Road, as well as the construction of a combined footway and cycle path extending to a nearby bus stop.
A new pedestrian crossing point and access from the site into adjacent public open and recreational spaces are also planned, ensuring the development is well-connected and accessible.
Planners will consider the application in the coming months.
