Planning Application Submitted to Improve Access at Riverside Retail Park

Pizza Hut (Ireland) Ltd. has lodged a planning application with Causeway Coast & Glens Council for a proposed development at the entrance to Riverside Park East within the Riverside Retail Park, Coleraine.

The fast-food chain, which currently owns a number of units in the area and previously operated a restaurant on the site, is seeking to improve vehicle access to food outlets located in the front car park—that include Hullabaloos, Spice House, Chequers, and Subway.

According to the application, the development is intended to help ease congestion and reduce queuing on surrounding roads, an issue particularly associated with the high volume of traffic using the adjacent McDonald’s drive-thru.

If granted approval, the proposal is expected to enhance overall traffic flow within the retail park, making access safer and more efficient for customers and easing pressure on the local road network.
