Plans Submitted for New Housing Development in Dervock

causeway coast community Mar 28, 2025

A planning application has been submitted to Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council for a proposed housing development on lands adjacent to No. 231 Castlecat Road, Dervock, Ballymoney — the site of the former manse building.

The application, brought forward by Holm Estates Ltd, outlines plans for 13 houses and six apartments, along with a bin store, wastewater treatment plant, and all associated works.

A design and access statement submitted with the proposal describes the mix of smaller townhouses and apartments as a “much-needed diverse housing mix” that aims to meet the needs of a range of modern households at different life stages.

The document highlights the region’s “ongoing urgent housing crisis” and states that the scheme would contribute positively without creating conflict with neighbouring land uses. The site sits beside an existing area of open space, which the applicant says will enhance local amenities.

The application will now be assessed by council planners.
