Roe Valley Resort Submits Plans For New Water Slides and Helter-Skelter
Mar 10, 2025
Plans have been submitted to Causeway Coast & Glens Council to propose family-friendly enhancements at Roe Valley Resort.
The Galgorm Collection acquired the Roe Park Golf Resort near Limavady last year for a figure close to its guide price of £14m.
Roe Park Resort, which was named the Best Golf Resort in Ulster at the 2024 Golfers Guide to Ireland awards, had been independently owned since it opened in 1995.
A design and access statement, prepared by Fleming Mounstephen Planning, outlines proposals to introduce water slides into the swimming pool and to install a helter-skelter with an integrated soft play area in the courtyard.
A statement within planning documentation reads;
Galgorm Collection is set to invest approximately £20 million over the next four years to transform Roe Valley Resort, enhancing the experience for families, leisure guests, and golfers alike.
Our goal is to build upon the resort’s existing foundations to establish a strong market position while expanding our reach into new markets. This investment will bring exciting new facilities and developments, further elevating Roe Valley as a leading destination.
To support this vision, the first phase of development will introduce a range of family-focused additions, designed to create a fun and engaging environment for younger guests. A Fratelli Italian restaurant will be added, marking the third in our collection alongside existing locations at Galgorm and Belfast.
This addition will further enhance the resort’s dining offering, bringing authentic Italian flavours to Roe Valley. Alongside this, families can enjoy a variety of new activities including a Helter Skelter with soft play, water slides leading into the main pool and an indoor games zone. A brand-new gym will also be introduced. All of which will make Roe Valley a must-visit destination for families in the region.
Looking ahead, future phases will include investment in an adults-only spa area, providing a tranquil retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation alongside a refurbished bar space designed for socialising and entertainment.
Beyond this, we have ambitious plans to revitalise the hotel lobby and guest rooms, ensuring a refreshed and carefully curated experience for all visitors. We also have plans for the clubhouse, bar and restaurant, a redesigned golf course and a state-of-the-art driving range.
Additionally, we want to develop an outdoor activity area for children and young adults, further enriching the resort’s offering and providing enhanced experiences tailored to every guest. This investment signals a bold new era for Roe Valley Resort, shaping it into a leading destination where families, golfers, and wellness seekers will create unforgettable experiences for years to come.
The planning statement concludes by saying that the proposed development is a first investment which is part of a planned £20M approx. investment which will bring a range of benefits for local and out of country visitors alike. The applicant hopes to commence work on the proposal in mid-2025.
A press release regarding the developments from the Galgorm Collection is anticipated shortly.
