September engineering works to extend platforms on Coleraine to Portrush line

Translink is advising passengers of major planned engineering works this September to extend platforms at Dhu Varren and University stations.
This work is needed to facilitate the stopping of longer trains, enhancing capacity and enabling all passengers to access carriages safely.
To facilitate the works, there will be a line closure between Coleraine and Portrush Station from Monday 4th to Friday 8th September 2023 (inc); and Monday 11th to Sunday 24th September 2023 (inc).
Bus substitution services will be in place and valid train tickets can also be used on appropriate Ulsterbus services.
The bus subs will operate from these locations:
- Coleraine Bus & Rail Station
- University (departing from Cromore Road)
- Dhu Varren (departing from Coleraine Road)
- Portrush Train Station
The Coleraine to Portrush line will fully re-open on Monday, 25th September.
Passengers are advised to check online at www.translink.co.uk or use the Journey Planner before they travel and allow extra time for their journey.
The scheduled rail timetable will continue to operate between Belfast to Derry~Londonderry during these works.
