Following a court hearing this afternoon, a six-month protection order was granted for the Springhill Bar in Portrush.

The order was approved after an application by Owey Enterprises Limited, the company behind well-known local establishments such as the Harbour Bar and Ramore complex. The ruling ensures that the bar will continue to operate under its existing conditions.

Speaking during the hearing, Matthew McAlpin, a director of Owey Enterprises Limited, confirmed the company’s acquisition of the premises. He stated that there were no immediate plans to alter the bar’s operations.

Long-term plans for potential modifications were acknowledged, though any changes are not expected to take effect in the immediate future.

In a statement on social media, Ramore Restaurants said;

"First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Sean and Jennifer for their years of dedication, hard work, and commitment to building such a beloved family business. They have been incredible throughout this process, making the transition seamless for us. We are honoured to continue the legacy they have built and maintain the warm, welcoming ethos that has made The Springhill Bar a cornerstone of the Portrush community.

The bar will continue to operate 7 days a week, from early to late, with business running as normal. We look forward to seeing all of The Springhill Bar’s loyal customers, both familiar and new, as we embark on this exciting new chapter.

Thank you for your continued support – we can’t wait to welcome you soon!"
