Support local at the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival by following the Taste Trail

Support local by following the self-guided Bushmills Taste Trail around the historic village of Bushmills over the annual Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival weekend from 6th to 8th October 2023.

Salmon and Whiskey are two somewhat 'niche' ingredients, but you will be pleasantly surprised with the creative dishes offered by local food and drink businesses in Bushmills. This year participation has been bolstered by the generous support of Old Bushmills Distillery who sponsored Bushmills Whiskey for each business featuring Bushmills Whiskey on their menus over the festival weekend and for the Chef demonstrations on Saturday, October 7th & Sunday, October 8th 2023.

Some of the delicious dishes you can enjoy include Bushmills whiskey scones with caramel and chocolate variations, Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon and crab salad, Seafood chowder, Whiskey cocktails, Bushmills coffees, Bushmills whiskey flight tastings, Cheese platters with whiskey-infused pickles, Salmon pies, whiskey ice-cream and much, much more!
In addition to food and drink, as you meander along the main street and browse the shops, galleries, and gift and antique shops, you will be impressed with the range of independent hospitality and retail offerings.

The Bushmills Taste Trail is an initiative by The Bushmills Business Association, supported by the Bushmills Trust and Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Town Experience fund. This initiative aims to create further awareness of the growing number of quality food and drink premises and encourage locals and visitors to support local, particularly during this challenging period for small businesses. Look out for the Bushmills Taste Trail signage, window stickers and special boards in participating stops. Be sure to scan the QR code when you see a sticker for the complete listing (the festival programme is edited and doesn't do justice to the efforts made).

In addition to those listed on the Bushmills Taste Trail map, four popular takeaways serve popular dishes all weekend - The Hip Chip, Flash in the Pan, Yi House & China Garden. Be sure to add them to your weekend list of where to eat! Worth noting, Mike's Coffee Shop is closed for renovations over that weekend but will feature on the trail going forward.
The Bushmills Taste Trail is not just a festival event. Themed and festive trails will be rolled out throughout the year, with a permanent listing maintained by volunteers of the Bushmills Business Association.
