Pipe Band and Drum Majors Championship to Make a Comeback in Portrush?

The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch (RSPBANI) has confirmed its intentions to the council for the Pipe Band and Drum Majors Championship to return to Portrush in 2025, after being away from the town for several years.

After a recent site visit to the popular seaside town, the association indicated that the West Strand in Portrush is intended as the ideal location for the event.

The intended date is Saturday, 2nd August 2025. The hope is that this could become an annual fixture on the first Saturday of August in subsequent years.

In a letter to David Jackson, Chief Executive of Causeway Coast & Glens Council, Alastair Patterson, Chairman of RSPBANI, expressed, "The RSPBANI aims to collaborate with the Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council through a sponsorship agreement to organise, host, and manage this prestigious event."
