The markets have been a fantastic showcase of local food, culture, heritage, and traditions, making them a perfect destination for anyone searching for an authentic experience. These markets can be found rotating in various locations and events. Some markets may have as few as 15 stalls, while others may feature up to 60, depending on the venue and event size. Typical locations include Ballymoney, Ballycastle, Limavady, Cushendun, Cushendall, Portstewart, Bushmills, and more.
The market platform is offered casually to individuals and small businesses to test the market with their artisan products, local food, art, and crafts. This provides them with the opportunity to gain market experience and earn income. The markets serve as a springboard for artisan makers and food producers to build their brand, explore new business ideas, and grow their ventures beyond the market.
The markets act as community hubs, uniting people of various ages, genders, races, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses around experiences of food, shopping, heritage, culture, education, music, and conversation. They are authentic attractions for visitors, increasing dwell time and helping boost local economies.
Additionally, the organisation delivers projects to support local producers and small businesses, including Seasons of the Glens Fine Food Boutique, Artisan Market Online, and Devilā€™s Churn.
A new project featuring a general market with broader participation criteria will be introduced later in 2024. This initiative will expand the types of businesses the organisation can work with, offering even more opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
